Globalization of McDonald


Globalization is usually adopted in international company and capital economy. McDonald is one of the famous examples of globalization.

First of all, concerning its raw material of product (including machine, food), all are made from different countries.

The yellow big letter “M” icon of McDonald also appears worldwide. For example, when you go to a strange country where you don’t know the language and cuisine here, McDonald can be a fine place for you to have lunch because it shares the same meal, service, way of buying and making food, atmosphere of the restaurant around the world. Hence, McDonald is a great place for showing “the intercommunity in the world”.

In addition, globalization of McDonald also affects the way of production of other industries like recreational and transportation in the world. McDonald strict production method (for example, division of labor, mechanization, training of labor…) , which can reach the maximum profit making capacity, is adopted by different industries.

Postmodernism of McDonald


Playful
Promotion always involves customers to participate e.g. monopoly game. Crazy customers want to collect all stamps and therefo­­­­re McDonald creates a hot topic of that period in society. It seems that everyone should join this game if you live in Hong Kong.

In addition, Previous “Dim Jack” card collection campaign, free toys in happy meal and some featuring with pop star (E.g. Eason Chan design the cover of McDonald discount passport) also give surprise and raise the customer’s interest successfully.

Chance/ Experience
McDonald can provide venue for holding Birthday Party and Wedding Party.  Hence, McDonald provides a chance for parents and couples to enjoy happy moment there.

McDonald often cooperate artists to organize some music jams and the audience can enjoy the excitement of music.

McCafe sell hot drink like coffee and other tea-time cake, etc. And therefore it provides a place for spending leisure time with friends there.

Furthermore, Continually promotion of new food so that McDonald food is a must try item all the time. Therefore, the customers can try new thing frequently.

In other words, the customers can realize the cooking process of the McDonald food.  As a result, the customers can witness what is happening inside the restaurant and will feel relieved once the level of transparency is raised.

Act as a fast food shop, it gives a high degree of freedom to customers in the restaurant. For example, there are not any waiters to serve the customers.

Maybe it is seldom seen in Hong Kong because of the limitation of place. The design if foreign McDonald restaurant utilize the use of chrome and the inclusion of certain natural elements, the balance of simplicity with unusual angles and form.


McCafe - Lifestyle
Sells hot drink like coffee and other tea-time cake, etc. Provide a place for spending leisure time with friends there.
