The McDonald’s golden arches have come to symbolize American culture around the world. Operating in 118 countries and on six continents, the fast-food chain has no choice but to expand its options beyond the classic hamburger and french fries. Whether it’s the Rice Burger in Taiwan or the Paneer Salsa Wrap in India, check out our picks for the 11 most interesting McDonald’s menu items.
Taiwan
Looking for something besides bread as your burger’s bun? Order the Rice Burger and you’ll get your choice of chicken or beef between two rice cakes. Canada

Greece
There are a couple of items on the Greek McDonald’s menu you won’t find in the States. You can help yourself to the Big Tiger Shrimp meal of crispy breaded shrimp served with sweet-and-sour sauce. In Japan, McDonald’s offers the Bacon Potato Pie. It may look like the classic apple pie , but instead of being sweet, it’s stuffed with savory ingredients like bacon, potatoes and onions.
